Chip controls legislation creeps forward as Warren joins Cotton bill

A Senate proposal to harden export controls on advanced AI chips gained new bipartisan momentum, as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the Banking Committee’s ranking member, joined Sen. Tom Cotton’s Chip Security Act—roughly nine months after Cotton introduced the measure and it was referred to the Senate Banking Committee.
