Posted

The OFAC-OFSI Enhanced Partnership, UK Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) marked  the one-year milestone with a joint statement nothing accomplishments.

  • Over the past year, the Enhanced Partnership has included quarterly virtual and in-person exchanges at all levels of seniority.
  • OFSI and OFAC issued their first jointfact-sheet to provide further clarity on United Kingdom and United States Russia-related humanitarian authorizations.
  • This year’s in-person technical exchange included discussion on areas where respective authorities may differ, such as on ownership and control and reporting requirements
  • The initiative launched a reciprocal secondee programme, with an OFAC employee now embedded in OFSI and plans to have an OFSI employee at OFAC soon, allowing us to further share and exchange hands-on experience.
  • OFSI and OFAC committed to participate in regular joint engagements and will look to replicate this model in the coming months with the humanitarian sector

OFSI has published a blog post 1 year on since the launch of the OFAC-OFSI Enhanced Partnership, which sets out the exchanges and engagements jointly held by the 2 agencies over the past year, culminating in a multi-day technical exchange in London in October 2023,
