States Sue to Block 122 Tariffs

A coalition of 24 states sued the Trump administration in the U.S. Court of International Trade on Thursday, arguing President Donald Trump unlawfully used Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 to impose a new round of broad tariffs after the Supreme Court struck down his earlier duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The case opens a new test of presidential tariff authority and could further complicate the administration’s effort to preserve a central part of Trump’s trade agenda.
